The kitchen looked like this when we purchased the home.
The first thing that needed to do done was to fill in the holes in the walls, place cabinet supports and extend the electrical.
Once the walls were sheet rocked, the contractor came in and mudding started.
The flooring needed to be removed. It was found that there were 3
different layers of flooring and sub-flooring material in place. Thank
goodness it was a job that I could do while sitting down.
Plastic was hung to protect the existing cabinets so that the ceiling could be scraped, mudded and painted.
After
the ceiling was painted, the walls were primed and painted. Some of the
new base cabinets are in place to start leveling and prepped for final
installation.
·
Now work was started to remove the old cabinets and move the refridgerator to its new location..
·
Up
to this point we still have a semi-working kitchen. The time came when
the old cabinetas needed to all come out so that the walls could be
prepped for paint.
·
Once the old cabinets were out and the painting was done, the new cabinets cound be installed.
With
the new cabinets in place, the counter top company came in and
measured. It was also agreed upon to purchase a new dishwasher and
range.
The counter top has arrived and was installed on March 22, 2010
Now that the flooring is installed, Baseboards and toe kicks are needed to finish this project.
The wall painting continues.
Now the old flooring comes out
When the old hard wood came out it was found to glued down. This caused damage to
the subfloor so it also had to be removed down tot he origional floor panels.
This what the new flooring looks like.
The baseboards need to be installed to complete this end of the project.
